Nelson County, Virginia
As part of an extensive upgrade program to Route 151 through Nelson County, VDOT has added rumble strips to the center line along the highway. The purpose of the strips if hopefully to alert a driver that might be swaying into the opposing lane. Center line rumble strips have been used for a few years in other states such as Texas and New Hampshire.

The majority of the road improvements are taking place at the intersection of Routes 151 and 635 (Greenfield Road). This is where Laura Cavedo and her two young daughters were killed in a collision 3 years ago this month. Ms. Cavedo was waiting to turn left onto Greenfield road she was rear ended and shoved head on into the opposing lane of traffic.

    Hello Tommy,

    What about the “T” intersection a 151 and 250.

I can’t count the number of times someone has driven through the stop sign and into across 250 through the fence and into the field. Last weekend some one did just that. The owner of the farm fixed the fence and two days later someone did it again.

    What’s up with that?

    Ken
