As we mentioned earlier in an update on our coverage of the Afton Mountain brushfire here, the Nelson County Board of Supervisors has passed a local declaration of emergency due to drought conditions. A burn ban is also in place that prohibits outdoor burning on both public AND PRIVATE property.
