…WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST SUNDAY…

* WHAT…Heavy snow and some ice. Total snow accumulations of 4 to
8 inches and up to one tenth of an inch of glaze ice expected.

* WHERE…Portions of southern Maryland and central and northern
Virginia.

* WHEN…Until 6 PM EST Sunday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Travel could be very difficult due to snow
covered and slippery roads.

…Snow to wintry mix expected through Sunday…

.A storm system moving out of the Southern Plains will shift to
the Southeast U.S. through Sunday. Expect some light snow today
ahead of it, followed by more of a wintry mix tonight into
Sunday. Expect mainly snow north of I-64 and U.S. 460, with a
transition of snow an sleet between the Virginia/North Carolina
border of U.S 460, with a better chance of freezing rain over
North Carolina by late tonight. This system will shift offshore
with wintry weather becoming lighter by late Sunday.
