Event Details:

Tonight at 6:00PM we will release bottle and draft Dark Hollow batch #11! Join us to taste the differences between the two versions along with vintage Dark Hollow and, for the first 15 participants to arrive, tasting of the legendary Goose Island’s Bourbon County Brand Stout, the original bourbon-barrel-aged beer in the world. And for the first 10 participants to arrive for the tasting, we will be opening one 12-oz bottle of “Heartwood Symposium” a beer created by the Illinois Craft Brewers’ Guild in 2010 for the occasion of the 2010 Craft Brewers’ Conference and World Beer Cup and given out only to participants of the conference. You will never see this beer anywhere again. It was brewed at Goose Island in Chicago by 4 teams composed each of 3-4 different brewers from the different companies. Included in the groups were brewing greats from the likes of Three Floyds, Piece, Flossmoor Station, and Revolution Brewing. Quoting from the bottle: “This ale celebrates the midwest as the birthplace of bourbon-barrel aged American Craft beer. Brewers from 15 Illinois breweries formed four teams, each creating a recipe and brewing it at Goose Island Beer Co.: Imperial Stout, Imperial IPA, Scotch style Wee Heavy and a Barley Wine style Ale. All were aged separately in Bourbon barrels. The resulting Symposium Ale is our taste-tested blend of all four batches.” Awesome! Brewer/co-owner Matt Nucci will be leading the tasting…I don’t think I need to add “be prompt” for attending this one!
