Nelson/Augusta County, Virginia
For the forth straight day temperatures will make it into the 90’s before diving 15-20 degrees for afternoon highs in the coming days. Our Paul Purpura grabbed these shots from our friends in neighboring Augusta County over the weekend at the annual Waynesboro Riverfest. An unusually warm air mass has been in place over Central Virginia for the past several days making event’s like the Riverfest a hot one when cooler conditions would typically be in place this time of year.
Several records were set across the area Monday as temps exceeded highs previously set in the early and mid 1990’s.
Showers and thunderstorms move into the region by Wednesday afternoon with much cooler temperatures by the second half of the week.
