Lovingston Opry is proud to present Blue Skye on Saturday, June 14 at 7:00 p.m.
Beginning in 2001, this eclectic group began playing venues in Central Virginia, their first being a benefit for the firefighters’ families of September 11th. With a ballad form of folk, and the rhythmic beats of rock, jazz and country, they give a magical harmony to their tunes. Original members include Mark Campbell, on lead guitar and vocals, Theresa “Tee†Latchford, on rhythm guitar, bass and vocals, Scott Heath on bass and vocals, and Sharen Dowdy on keyboard and vocals. Brandon “aka Pedro†Grishaw joined the group in 2007 on drums.
Originally considered “unplugged,†the group developed a more electric sound in 2005, and recently added a wide range of dance covers to their original playlist, including music from Tom Petty, Tracy Chapman, Jefferson Airplane and Hal Ketchum, among others.
