...Winter Storm Expected To Impact Region Saturday Night...

.An area of Low pressure is expected to develop along the central
Gulf coast Saturday, then move northeast to along the Mid-
Atlantic coast by Sunday morning. This will result in a period of
moderate to heavy snow Saturday night and early Sunday.

SUNDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8
  inches possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, southwest and west
  central Virginia, north central and northwest North Carolina
  and southeast West Virginia.

* WHEN...From Saturday evening through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions.

snow...sleet...or ice accumulations that may impact travel.

  1. As mentioned in the original post. It was discussed that the area would be expanded into other counties. The first watch was issued by Blacksburg NWS that covers counties up to Amherst. The Baltimore / DC office issued their watch around 3PM Friday afternoon to include their counties. We placed a link above and did a separate post as well. Tommy
