…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THIS
MORNING TO 4 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON…

* WHAT…A wintry mix of snow…sleet and freezing rain expected.
Total snow and sleet accumulations of one-half inch or less are
expected, except locally 1 to 3 inches in the higher mountains.
Ice accumulation from freezing rain less than one-tenth of an
inch.

* WHERE…Central Virginia and adjacent eastern West Virginia
including the Appalachians.

* WHEN…From 7 AM this morning to 4 PM EST this afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…The ice will result in difficult travel
conditions. Be prepared for reduced visibilities at times.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling
from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

…Wintry precipitation today…

.A complex low pressure system will pass through the area from
the west today. Widespread wintry precipitation in the form of
snow, sleet and freezing rain will occur before transitioning to
mostly rain during this afternoon. A few inches of snow can be
expected in spots along with some icing especially along the
eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge.

Botetourt-Rockbridge-Bedford-Amherst-
Including the cities of Fincastle, Lexington, Buena Vista,
Bedford, and Amherst

AFTERNOON…

* WHAT…Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations
around two inches with ice accumulations around one tenth of
an inch.

* WHERE…Botetourt, Rockbridge, Bedford and Amherst Counties.

* WHEN…From 6 AM this morning to 4 PM this afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Plan on slippery road conditions. Be
prepared for reduced visibilities at times.
