The old Rockfish Post Office is a favorite landmark for many people across the country. Rockfish is the spot that was often highlighted in the the television series The Walton’s. That show was loosley based on the childhood of Nelson native and the show’s creator, Earl Hamner, Jr.

The old post office used to be the way people in that area got their mail until it was eventually closed and consolidated into other area post offices.
