* PORTIONS OF VIRGINIA AND NORTHEAST WEST VIRGINIA…INCLUDING
THE FOLLOWING AREAS…IN VIRGINIA…ALBEMARLE…AUGUSTA…
CENTRAL VA BLUE RIDGE…EASTERN HIGHLAND…GREENE…MADISON…
NELSON…NORTHERN VA BLUE RIDGE…PAGE…RAPPAHANNOCK…
ROCKINGHAM AND WESTERN HIGHLAND. IN NORTHEAST WEST VIRGINIA…
EASTERN PENDLETON AND WESTERN PENDLETON.

* UNTIL 6 AM EDT MONDAY

* MODERATE TO LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION
TONIGHT. RAINFALL TOTALS OF ONE AND A HALF TO TWO INCHES ARE
EXPECTED IN AREAS NEAR THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN BLUE RIDGE
MOUNTAINS. LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE…ESPECIALLY
ALONG AND IMMEDIATELY EAST OF THE BLUE RIDGE.

* EXPECT SMALL STREAMS AND CREEKS TO RISE…POSSIBLY OVERFLOWING
THEIR BANKS. IN ADDITION…FLOODING MAY OCCUR IN LOW LYING AND
POOR DRAINAGE AREAS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.

PLEASE MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE FLOOD
WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE
PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.

…HEAVY RAIN MAY PRODUCE AREAS OF FLOODING TONIGHT…

.ABNORMALLY HIGH AMOUNTS OF MOISTURE COMBINED WITH STRONG LIFT
WILL GENERATE WIDESPREAD RAIN INTO TONIGHT. RAIN WILL BE HEAVY AT
TIMES. THIS RAIN WILL FALL ON THE ALREADY MOIST GROUND…WHICH
WILL RESULT IN MODERATE TO HEAVY RUNOFF. THEREFORE THERE IS A HIGH
PROBABILITY OF FLOODING…ESPECIALLY ALONG AND EAST OF THE BLUE
RIDGE.

HEAVIEST RAIN FALLS. INUNDATION OF FLOOD PRONE OR LOW LYING
AREAS…AND LOW WATER CROSSINGS IS ALSO LIKELY.
