Nelson County, VA

The extreme cold blast that’s settled over the Blue Ridge during the past day has made for some naturally pretty ice scenery along the higher elevations. But down below in Nellysford, Wintergreen Hardware’s Danny Watson decided to make some of his own icy art!

Right near the entrance along Route 151 is where Danny Watson started his icy art.

As the water freezes in the 10 degree temps, neat ice formations appear.

About the time we were leaving Wintergreen Hardware Tuesday afternoon, Danny was setting up even more sprinklers to improve on his design! Should be pretty neat by Wednesday morning!
