Wintergreen Resort Kicks Off Ski Season 2 Weeks Early!

©™2013 Haley Rorrer of Afton, VA (left) & Kaleigh Smith of Roseland (right) take a break on the slopes Saturday afternoon at Wintergreen Resort. The season kicked off about 2 weeks earlier than anticipated due to extra cold temperatures and additions to the snowmaking system last year.

The calendar is barely past Thanksgiving and Wintergreen Resort opened the slopes Saturday for skiing and snowboarding! Yep about two weeks earlier than the projected December 14th opening.

The slopes were packed on Saturday with the same expected on Sunday.
