Increased Traffic Expected Sunday & Monday Due To Lockn’ Festival Departures

LYNCHBURG-Activities at the Lockn’ Music Festival at Oak Ridge in Nelson County will begin to wind down today and motorists along US 29 in the area should be alert to heavier-than- normal traffic into midday Monday, Sept. 9.

Festival attendees are expected to begin leaving the Oak Ridge area this afternoon. Traffic will steadily increase throughout the day with highest volume upon completion of the event at 11:00 p.m.

Traffic leaving Oak Ridge will enter US 29 North. Motorists wanting to go southbound will make a U-turn at a designated crossover approximately 1 mile north of Oak Ridge Road. Thru traffic northbound will merge into the right travel lane.

Law enforcement personnel will monitor and assist with traffic.

Motorists are urged to use caution throughout this area and watch for stopped or slow moving vehicles.
