For 20 years people have been coming to Waltons Mountain Museum [3] to remember folks from the television series The Waltons [4]. That show is based on the childhood experiences of Earl Hamner [5]who was born and raised in the East Nelson County, VA community. We told you about the 40th anniversary of the show in Los Angeles in this recent post. [6] This past weekend on October 20, 2012 the museum celebrated 2 decades of having a memorial to the show.

Though not part of the actual museum itself, folks packed the old Hamner home place just down the street to get a chance to see where Earl Hamner (John Boy) grew up. Above Earl's real life sister Audrey Hamner, from near Roanoke, chats with a fan in Schuyler this past Saturday - October 20, 2012.
