Nelson County, VA

Tiger Fuel Company recently teamed up with British Petroleum to donate $2,500 to help feed hungry mouths in Nelson County.

Committed to providing supplemental food for those in need, the Nelson County Pantry is a member of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. The nonprofit feeds more than 800 individuals in more than 275 households in Central Virginia each month.

BP’s Fueling Communities Program, which provides contributions to organizations across the nation, funded the grant. Through Fueling Communities, local BP distributors help support the communities in which they do business by nominating area nonprofits to receive donations. “We are proud to be part of BP’s efforts to help support the Nelson County Pantry,” said Stuart Lowry of Tiger Fuel Company. “As BP retailers, we are committed to giving back to our community and contributing to an important program such as this one.”

Tiger Fuel Company—which operates and owns 11 “Market”-branded retail locations and supplies more than 130 other stores—secured the grant by meeting stringent eligibility, including its demonstration of commitment to providing a superior shopping experience for customers. The company has donated nearly $6,000 to Central Virginia nonprofits through Fueling Communities, now in its second year.
