Some people didn’t see a drop of rain Monday afternoon, but that wasn’t the case up on the mountain at Wintergreen Resort. They had a very intense thunderstorm with heavy rains and very intense lightning.

A screen shot Monday afternoon just after the storm of our very own weather station over at The Wintergreen Nature Foundation. The mid-afternoon total was 3.77 inches of rain.

Compare that to far less amounts here at NCL and just down the road at Spruce Creek Park just south of Nellysford.

Water made several deep trenches in this sand trap up at Devils Knob from the Monday afternoon storm.

Things will be much better on Tuesday with less humidity and sunny skies!
