Memorial Day Winds Down. Summer Ramps Up!

Memorial Day Weekend was a hot one in Nelson! On Memorial Day itself temps reached the mid and upper 90’s for afternoon highs in the valley with and an 82° high in the mountains of Nelson. Lots of people took to the water. Lake Monacan officially opened over the holiday weekend. Perfect time with the heat.

Lake Monacan - 0199 — If folks weren't in the water, they weren't far away. These youngsters spent much of the hot afternoon on the shores of Lake Monocan.

WPA Wine Fest - 0054 — Upon on the mountain at Wintergreen Resort people enjoyed a cooler Festival of Wines this past Sunday afternoon over the holiday weekend. John Taylor left, and wife Nanci with Wintergreen Performing Arts help folks with a wine tasting.

WPA Wine Fest - 0044 — Cardinal Point Winery & Vineyard here in Nelson was just one of the many wines on hand at this year's annual festival.
