Crews from Faber FD, Lovingston FD, Rockfish FD, Wintergreen FD, Nelson Rescue , and the Nelson County Sheriff’s Department responded to a house fire this past Sunday morning in Faber. “Mr. Dennis Atkins was driving on rt 29 N, when he noticed smoke coming from the house. He stopped, backed up, and could tell it was a fire. He then went to the house and started pounding on the door to alert the home owner,” says Nelson Emergency Services coordinator, Ray Uttaro. He went on to say they tried to use a fire extinguisher but couldn’t get the fire out.
According to Uttaro, no one was injured and the owner had insurance,
