Today at 7:28 AM EDT Summer officially begins! It will feel like it too! As a matter of fact it’s been feeling like it all weekend long. The first day of Summer is also the longest day of the year. (so to speak) From here on the days will slowly begin getting shorter with December 21st, the start of winter, being the shortest.

Sunday wrapped up two days of the Virginia Summer Solstice Wine Festival just over the line in Amherst County. Thankfully much of the event was under a rooftop that stretches for nearly 2 acres!
