Fire & rescue crews were busy Wednesday covering calls across the county. An afternoon fire call along Route 250 headed up Afton Mountain near the road construction was quickly under control. Area fire departments responded to put out the cab of a logging truck that caught on fire.

Earlier in the day rescue crews responded to an auto accident at the intersection of Route 29 and Arrington Rd in Colleen.

Earlier in the day rescue crews in the south end of the county responded to an auto accident at Colleen. According to Ray Uttaro, Nelson Emergency Service Coordinator, one person was sent to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

The intersection in Southern Nelson County along Route 29 has been the site of numeous accidenrts over the past several years.
