Nelson County, Virginia
Now it’s hard to believe it ever happened. A 2 foot snow here in Nelson County, that paralyzed the area for the weekend of December 19th, and many adjoining counties for days to come. Albemarle was still dealing with the mess days after Nelson had cleared most major roads.

A National Guard Hummer was about the only way to get to some areas in Nelson County.

At Devils Knob, 31 inches of snow was reported with the storm. Nothing like that in our forecast, but there is a chance for some snow later in the week.

  1. Not forgotten and not gone — at least up here on top of Wintergreen. The Devils Knob golf course still has 5-10″ on the ground. We haven’t ventured out onto the slopes this weekend but word has it the skiing is phenomenal!!
