Time flies when you’re having fun, and this past year has definitely flown by for the folks at Devils Backbone Brewing Company in Roseland. It was one year ago this week that Nelson’s second custom microbrewery opened for business.

It was a long road to opening with lots of hurdles to cross.

By March of 2008 construction of the brewery was well on its way.

By July of 2008 much of the brewery's framework was done. Executive Chef, Shawn Goodwin, Brewmaster Jason Oliver, and Crandall inside the brewery under construction last year.

  1. Congratulations to the Devil’s Backbone for a truly magnificent first year. The structure is an interesting architectural delight, inside and outside, while the bustling, upbeat vitality of the business within has given folks something to cheer about during the recession. It’s certainly not just a place to eat and drink ; all the elements combine to provide a positive experience and energy for everyone who goes in. Also it gives employment to many Nelson men and women!!
