The first snow of the coming winter season came just a tad early according to the calendar. Late Saturday night into Sunday morning of this past weekend, just under an inch of snow fell in the higher elevations of Nelson County. Overnight lows hit the upper 20’s in the mountains making ideal conditions for the falling snow. Paul Purpura grabbed more shots here right at daybreak Sunday morning.

The light snow wasn't enough to create any problems, but is a reminder that winter is on the way, though it doesn't officially start until December 21st!

After a chilly night – last night, the snow and the cold temps are long gone for the next several days as a warming trend is setting in for the coming week. Look for valley highs in the 60’s and 70’s for the next several days, with the mountains easily making it into the 60’s as we approach midweek. Rain enters the forecast again by Friday.
