Piney River
Nelson County, Virginia
Lawmen are on the search for a white male dressed in full camo that tried to rob a Piney River postal clerk as she was opening for business Saturday morning around 8:00 o’clock AM. “When she was opening up and had her back turned, the man came up behind her and demanded money. The clerk said she never saw a weapon but it appeared he was gesturing as if may have had one in a pocket,” says Nelson County, Virginia Sheriff, David Brooks.
When the clerk told the man she had no money, he eventually left going off into a wooded area near the post office that’s about a mile north of the Amherst County line. The clerk was not harmed.
“Our search in conjunction with the U.S. Postal Police is concentrated in this wooded area near the post office, ” Sheriff Brooks continues.
The sheriff says the man was dressed in full camo from head to toe, with a camo mask that had the eyes cut out. He is described as a white male weighing approximately 150-160 pounds and 5′ 10″ in height.
K-9 search dogs are now on location as the manhunt continues.
Anyone seeing a man fitting this description is asked to call the Nelson County Sheriff’s Department at: 434.263.7050
