James Lee Spencer is wanted by the Nelson County, Virginia Sheriff after a search Thursday came up empty.

As NCL broke and first told you here and here, the Nelson County Sheriff’s Department (NCSD) is on the lookout for the man pictured above. James Lee Spencer’s photo was released this morning. His photo was on file from a previous arrest.

Spencer ran from police as they were trying to serve court papers on him involving a domestic abuse case. He was involved in a brief pursuit in the Davis Creek Road area of Nelson County just northwest of Lovingtson. Authorities searched for Spencer well into the evening but were unable to locate him. At the time of the pursuit, Nelson County Sheriff, David Brooks, said he was showing aggressive behavior and should be consider dangerous.

Anyone that has any information on Spencer or sees anyone like the man above is asked to call the NCSD at 434.263.7050

  1. i just want someone to explain to me how on the scanner(which for some reason a million and one country people have) heard that mr. spencer shot a state trooper in the head, and then was subseguently shot himself by another officer, and that uva emt helicopter had been called to pick one of them up ….if someone knows who put this out over the airways could just please explain to me how such untruths could be said over a device that broadcasts to god knows how many people….thanks!!!! and also can you explain to me why it takes close to 40 officers to try and supposedly get someone to surrender if he had been inside his home…sounds like overkill to me!!! especially since i heard the warrant was for a scratch on his girlfriends hand from her and him jerking keys out of each others hands….this girl has some problems anyway from what i hear, of course thats just my opinion!!!!! well thanks for listneing.
