Tuesday was pretty much a cloudy day with scattered light showers about the area, with no one station really receiving any great rainfall as you can see from the totals below:

Rainfall totals as of 11:59 PM EDT Tuesday night:

TUESDAY High / Low at NCL Magazine : Rockfish Valley : 78°/68° – RAIN : 0.02″ – YTD: 21.59″
TUESDAY High / Low at NCL-TWNF : Wintergreen Mountain : 68°/62° – RAIN 0.06″ – YTD: 29.73″
TUESDAY High / Low at NCL-Hatcreek Farm : Roseland, VA : 73°/65°– RAIN : 0.02″ – YTD: 28.25″
TUESDAY High / Low at NCL-Tiger Fuel : Lovingston, VA : 75°/68° – RAIN : 0.04″ – YTD: 26.14″
TUESDAY High / Low at NCL-Delfosse Winery : Faber, VA : 76°/68° – RAIN : 0.02″ – YTD: 21.00″

Temperatures remained cool with all of the cloud cover, but not much rain for anyone. Look for much cooler temperatures to move into the area today, with low 70’s for valley highs and lower 60’s for the mountains. We’ll start off cloudy and foggy, with perhaps some areas seeing limited partly sunny skies by afternoon.

We head into a pretty unsettled weather pattern for the next several days. Variable cloudiness hangs in the area off and on through the weekend with temps warming into the upper 80’s again by Sunday. We won’t see any widespread rain during the period, but a frontal boundary in the area clouds and showers are possible right on through Monday of next week.

Hurricane Ike continues churning in the gulf heading for Texas. By the end of the 5 day period Ike may head north into the U.S. mainland and from there could go most anywhere.

Have a great Wednesday!
