Thanks to Heidi Crandall of Roseland, Virginia for today’s weather photo of a fawn in the field!

Wednesday stayed pretty much cloudy for the entire day, but just before dark skies cleared briefly with sun shining for a couple of hours. As we talked about yesterday, unsettled weather will be the rule right on through the weekend until a frontal boundary in the area eventually moves on.

Rainfall totals as of 11:59 PM EDT Wednesday night:

WED High / Low at NCL Magazine : Rockfish Valley : 71°/60° – RAIN : 0.02″ – YTD: 21.59″
WED High / Low at NCL-TWNF : Wintergreen Mountain : 62°/53° – RAIN 0.06″ – YTD: 29.73″
WED High / Low at NCL-Hatcreek Farm : Roseland, VA : 71°/60°– RAIN : 0.04″ – YTD: 28.25″
WED High / Low at NCL-Tiger Fuel : Lovingston, VA : 70°/60° – RAIN : 0.11″ – YTD: 26.14″
WED High / Low at NCL-Delfosse Winery : Faber, VA : 71°/60° – RAIN : 0.02″ – YTD: 21.00″

As you can see above, the temperatures Wednesday didn’t move very much, staying around 70° in the valley and near 60° on the mountains for afternoon highs. By the weekend, look for a front to our south to move back as a warm front keeping chances for showers and thunderstorms in the forecast until early next week when high pressure regains control.

Hurricane Ike continues heading for Texas. By the end of the 5 day period Ike still may head north into the U.S. mainland. We’ll have to see what happens over the weekend as to which direciton he takes. But this is a major hurricane threat for Texas.

Have a great Thursday!
