Henri & Elaine Weems sent today’s weather photo to us. Very appropriate since we had some really hot weather again Wednesday. They tells us this is:

“Mom & Dad are showing the newly fledged Blue Bird babies how to cool off on a real hot day.”

Wednesday was certainly the day to be in the cool water. We touch 99° briefly here at Nelson County Life Magazine in the Rockfish Valley and most other locations were in the mid to upper 90’s as well. The mountains were in the lower 80’s.

Today will be a fairly warm day, but not really hot and we do have the chance for some renegade thunderstorms moving through the area as a weak cold front drops into the region. Some thunderstorms will break out, but this is no soaking rain headed in, so don’t look for much, and it will be out of here by Friday morning as cooler temperature move in behind the system.

Weekend highs cool to the lower 80’s in the valley.
