Nice shot, Ann Strober, grabbed of the fair weather over the mountains. Monday was a really nice day, though temps managed to rise into the lower 90’s on the average, while upper 70’s were afternoon highs on the mountain. It looks like the really hot temperatures initially though to be panning out for today won’t happen. We thought temps near 100 would be possible today, but some increasing clouds throughout the day may stop that. If we have intense sun lasting into the afternoon, some upper 90’s are possible.

Look for thunderstorms to develop in the afternoon, though isolated in nature. Some of these could be locally severe into the evening hours.

Behind the system look for temps near 90° one more day then we moderate into the 80’s, even lower 80’s by the weekend for afternoon highs, with overnight lows dropping to pleasant feeling lower 60’s valley and upper 50’s mountains.
