Most of you know by now that Yvette and I are expecting a child in the fall of this year. Yea, she’s been drinking the milk lots to keep up the calcium! She’s always liked Homestead Creamery milk. Ok. It looks like we have all of the computer gremlins out for now! Tuesday night and Wednesday was a pretty tough day for the folks over at Weather Underground.com As I mentioned Tuesday night they had a major glitch in the way their domain looked for their servers. Essentially half of the world couldn’t log on to them, including us. Which meant we couldn’t get our custom weather out to you! That’s been taken care of and all appears to be working normally now.
A quick thanks to Catherine Lively for today’s weather photo. Her husband grabbed this shot out the window of their home. I am not exactly sure where Catherine lives and she didn’t say in the e-mail, but for some reason I think it’s near Nellysford? (She e-mailed this morning to say it way Bryant Mountain) But, many folks have seen bears this year, and there continues to be numerous sightings down in the valley. Better be sure the honey is put up!
Before I head off into weather, one more thing. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD, back in West Tennessee. I know he listens every morning and today is his day. Think this is his 30th birthday! Which makes me, uh, not born!
And we told you yesterday about the progress on Nelson’s latest microbrewery slated to open this fall. Over in the weather department, the great weather continues as it has for the entire week. Today will be hotter than recent days and not really any chances of rain until we reach the weekend. A couple of cold fronts will take aim at Central Virginia starting this weekend, which will keep scattered showers and storms in the forecast right on through next week. Not widespread rain events, but better chances for rain than we’ve had in several days.
Invest #94 possible computer projections for the next several days.
Before we get to the detailed forecast, want to quickly hit #94 that’s way out near the Windward Islands. This has the potential to gain strength over the coming days and as you see above, the general trend is for northward movement possibly into the gulf. The latest tropical weather discussion mentions air force hunters taking a peek at it and keeping an eye out for additional strengthening. We’ll just have to see what it does and if it becomes a factor at all.
