Wintergreen Winery’s Memorial Weekend Celebration
Saturday, May 24th and Sunday, May 25th
WINTERGREEN, VA – Wine into summer surrounded by the majestic views of the Blue Ridge at Wintergreen Winery’s annual Memorial Weekend Celebration on Saturday, May 24th and Sunday, May 25th from 10am until 6pm each day. The tasting of each of Wintergreen’s award winning wines will include recent releases of Viognier, Three Ridges Red and Mill Hill Apple as well as locally produced favorites Black Rock Chardonnay Reserve, Three Ridges White, Thomas Nelson White, Cabernet Franc, Brentâ€™s Mountain Merlot and the decadent Raspberry dessert wine paired with chocolate. Plan to stay awhile and take in the scenery with a picnic on the banks of the Rockfish River and enjoy live music on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from noon to 6pm. Saturday will feature the danceable, fun, upbeat and rocking rhythm and blues of the Chickenhead Blues Band. Sunday’s guests will be treated to the infectious energy of William Walter & Co. whose music is best described as rock and roll, mixed with improvised solos handcrafted in a jam style. The $7 daily admission fee per adult (children are free) includes the wine tasting, live music, a souvenir wine glass, door prize drawings, use of the winery grounds and riverside picnic areas plus wine and gift shop specials. The event will be held rain or shine. Light picnic fare, wines and non-alcoholic beverages will be available to purchase to enjoy on winery grounds. Please note there will be no live music and no admission fee on Memorial Day (Monday). Wintergreen Winery is surrounded by beautiful mountain views and is located approximately 35 minutes from Charlottesville in the Rockfish Valley of Nelson County near Wintergreen Resort and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Exit at Reed’s Gap (MP 13.5) on Route 664 East; winery entrance five miles on left.
