Friday, September 28: Blue Stone Sky takes the stage for their first
performance at Rapunzel’s. Blue Stone Sky sprang into being in September 2006. Julie
and Kevin Caran had been playing music here and there in Harrisonburg under
the name The Professors Caran, but had long imagined having a band with more
harmonies, more instrumentation, and more members. They began collaborating with
their friend Sarah Cheverton, a former member of the regionally celebrated
folk ensemble Windfall, and soon decided to stick together as blue stone sky.
The band member’s influences include James Taylor, Carole King, Barenaked
Ladies, Girlyman, The Ditty Bops, Adrienne Young, CSNY, Indigo Girls, Ani, and
pretty much anything in the folk rock genre.
The show starts at 8pm/no cover.

Saturday, September 29: Deja Moo and Front Street.
Deja Moo brings us a high-energy mix of folk, oldtime, and original music
they like to call “Deja Moosic.” Front Street brings us a sweet, harmonic
blend of folk and Americana covers and lovely originals. Together, these two
bands are sure to complement each other and create a wonderful evening. The
show starts at 8pm/$5.
