*AUDIO VERSION OF FORECAST RETURNS MONDAY MORNING*

Good Sunday to everyone. A quick update to the forecast for this Sunday.

The low this morning at NCL-Wintergreen Nature Foundation upon Devil’s Knob at Wintergreen Mountain, made it to a cold 38.3° at 6:57 AM. We had talked about some upper 30’s in the forecast yesterday if the winds died out. Generally the winds went calm Saturday night, but there was a tiny breeze on the mountains overnight keeping the low temps in the upper 30’s vs mid 30’s. Tonight we could see some patchy frost on the mountains in particular, but again if winds subside, I think they will, then we could see some isolated patchy frost in the valley as well.

A warm up is on the way next week. I’ll have the details in Monday morning’s weather and audio cast.

Today’s Forecast Map {image updates daily at 5 AM EDT}

The National Forecast Map shows Canadian high pressure continues behind the cold front that brought us rain Friday and Friday night. Look for clear skies today with temps in the upper 30’s to near around 40 tonight. There is a chance we could even see isolated pockets of 30’s in the valley for some locations over the weekend. It all depends on whether the winds totally subside again Sunday nights

There is no real chance for rain in the extended forecast at this time.

We continue to monitor Tropical Storm Ingrid. It’s gained some winds to near 50-60 MPH at times, but a lot of factors are working against this for now. Winds as of Sunday were back down to the 35 MPH range. Wind shear is keeping this one from developing into much lately. By Tue or Wed of next week if Ingrid holds together, then we’ll need to begin watching more closely as it would then have a chance of significant development and possibly affecting the east coast.
Projected 5 day path
