Morning Spider webs

A big thank you to Judy Serkes over at Woods Mill again. She sent us this really neat photo above of the spider webs in the morning. Kind of neat!

Those spider web caught a little rain Tuesday as it was pretty much a dreary day across Nelson County and most of Virginia. It was mild and we did begin to see some clearing by late in the evening but the clouds hung in there for most of the day. No particular area got a lot of rain, but a few areas in northern and eastern Nelson got over a half inch in the past 24 hours.

Today will be a nice one with clearing skies, lower temps, and less humidity. Cooler high pressure from the north will control our weather for the next couple of days before a reinforcing cold front moves through around Friday. After that front makes it through, the weekend looks sunny and mild with pleasant temperatures.

Still watching one area of interest below – #91- for possible tropical storm development. Again too soon to know what will happen, but we’re keeping an eye on it. It could affect the east coast of the U.S. within a week to 10 days if it holds together. Again, I have no faith in the long range predictions and you simply can’t know what it will do, but it’s held together now for several days, so we’ll see where it goes.

Invest #91 out in the Atlantic

One interesting fact I was reading by Dr. Jeff Masters on Weather Underground is that Sept 10th marks the peak of hurricane season. From here on they generally decline, however, there’s several weeks to go as it takes a long time for the seas to cool down from all of the summer heating. We can still see a humdinger of a hurricane over the next few weeks.
