Monday was a pretty hot day with numerous thunderstorms around the area. A couple of severe thunderstorm warnings were issued last night. Here at NCL-Nelson County Life Magazine in Greenfield we picked up .22″ of rain starting after 8PM. We reached a high of 87 degrees. Dewpoints stayed in the 60’s and 70’s all day so it felt really muggy, you’ll feel that again today, except worse! You can view other rain totals across the county here.

On the current surface map below, two high pressure areas, one off the mid atlantic and the other to our south, will keep us hot and muggy. Scattered, sometimes severe thunderstorms, will form again late this afternoon and evening much like yesterday.
Current-Sat Surface Map

On the National Forecast Map, the high pressure off the mid-atlantic coast continues to keep us hot and muggy through week’s end when a cold front moves through and cools us down.
