The first in a series of events held at James River State Park this past weekend was a great success. Originally dubbed as a triathlon, the event was turned into a duathlon after heavy rains upstream last week created unsafe conditions for the kayak portion of the race.

Adventures on the James Games – ‪#‎FinishWithGold‬ No. 1 is in the books….
Great weekend. The weather shaped up to be sunny and pretty darn warm at James River State Park. Unfortunately the River volume remaind too high at 11kcf for a safe kayak.

The Run/Bike/Run modification made for a quick start as Ethan Johnson burned up the first Run in 22:17. Solo Men Winner Brad Fiala scorched the MTB 8 mile course in 46:12. Ed Ross-Clunis held a strong consistent race coming in 2nd Solo Male.
Solo Women Winner Carrie Parker took a overall time of 1:52:59 to secure top spot over Lisa Schott and Samantha Schinnell!
