The 28th Annual James River Batteau River Festival is underway! For years, we’ve been telling you about the folks that take to the James around this time in the late spring and early summer. Here’s a cool video from 2010 our Norm Shafer did.

This past Monday afternoon BRLM Photographer / Writer Marcie Gates caught up with the crew as they pulled in for the evening at Wingina Landing on Route 56 East on the Nelson / Buckingham County line. On Tuesday they headed out for Howardsville.
