Nelson County, Virginia
Tuesday will be the last moderately warm day for awhile. Over the next 24 hours temps begin a downward trend. Nothing extremely cold is headed at us, but more winter like temps are on the way as we begin the New Year. Though the mountains will see some single digits by the New Year.

As temps begin dropping Wednesday some fairly gusty winds will be working in throughout the day into the evening.

There is a chance for some mixed wintry precipitation in the forecast as well by Friday night into Saturday morning.

Right now New Year’s Eve looks partly cloudy and cold with blustery winds and temps around 25-30 degrees as we approach the midnight hour in the valley. On the mountains look for a very cold night with lows bottoming out around 5-10 degrees by New Year’s morning.

On New Year’s Day look for sunny skies and temps in the upper 30’s valley and around freezing on the mountains.
