Homestead-Olivia
Olivia Harris of a.m. Fog Shows Off One of The Homestead Creamery Varieties
Afton, Virginia

Most of you know by now that Yvette and I are expecting a child in the fall of this year. Yea, she’s been drinking the milk lots to keep up the calcium! She’s always liked Homestead Creamery milk. You know, it comes in those classic glass bottles, not far off of the kind the milkman used to deliver in simpler times. Most of the stores around here carried it, then one day she walked in and no more! Gone.

Folks this is one popular brand of milk and it’s the best around. No artificial hormones, and about as close to the cow as it comes! Yea, move over happy steer, we’ve got the happy cow now! As soon as Ken and Yvonne Harris up at a.m. Fog heard about this they jumped all over it! And, yep! They have the whole line of Homestead Creamery milk products in the familiar glass bottles, right there in their market on the Nelson-Albemarle County line on Route 151.

HC-Bottle-1
Nothing’s quite as good as a cold glass of milk from one of those chilled bottles!

And now you can get Homestead Creamery milk just up the road at a.m. Fog. along with all of your vegetables, plants and nursery needs to boot!

You can always visit them on the web at www.amfog.net or call ’em at 540-456-7100

Want to mention the car show above that’s taking place this weekend over at Sparrow’s Cafe in The Village At Glen Mary. They’re going to have lots of cool cars and motorcycles there this Saturday July 12th from 8 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon. You can click on the image above to get more info a printable entry form.

In today’s weather photo, Jeff Stone, of Wintergreen Winery in Beech Grove looks on (with crutches in hand, ask him!) as crews work on the expansion underway at their winery. The foundation is done and part of the walls are now up on what will be a new event facility at the winery. Jeff tells me they should be able to start having events there later this year. Keep watching for more updates!

Tuesday ended up being a tad warmer than the first part of the week. Late in the day another round of storms moved through the area prompting some severe thunderstorm warnings in a few parts of Nelson and adjoining counties. Today will be much like yesterday except we’ll see more thunderstorm activity today in advance of an approaching cold front. The Storm Prediction Center has us in the slight risk area for severe weather Wednesday, particularly in the afternoon. The local NWS office mentions that possibility as well.

Once Wednesday’s storms move out, our weather becomes more hum drum with warm to hot temps and only isolated chances for thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

Tropical Storm Bertha 5 Day Forecast Track

Hurricane Bertha continues to wander around out in the Atlantic and shows the northward movement, as predicted. As of last night she was losing some of steam, and is not expected to affect the U.S. at this time.
